We celevrate the sinhala new year festival. It is a national festival. sinhala buddhists and hindus celevrate it on the 14th of april. people prepare a lot to celebrate this festival . everybody is busy during this season . people wear new clothes on this day. they cook milkrice at on auspicious time. They eat milkrice at a good time . they also start work at a good time. These are sinhala new year rituals. relatives andneighbours meet each other. theyexchange greetings everybody greets each other according to sinhala customs . children offer betel to their parents and worship them. most buddhists visit the temple on the sinhala new year day. they offer flowers and alms in the vihara. we often heav the temple bells during this fetival.
